A letter from Phyllis Brennan (a neighbor from Lisduff) mentioned "Harry" Finn as
the father of Ned Finn who drowned in England. Also mentioned was Mrs. McFabby,
a daughter of Henry Finn.
George O'Reilly obtained the GRO death record for Henry. Henry died in the townland
of Lisduff. Cause of death was listed as old age and debility with no medical attendant.
The death was reported by his son, Michael Finn of Lisduff.
Henry was listed as a widower at the time of his death in 1893.
Ancestry.com listed Chicago obits under the heading "Chicago Irish Families, 1875-1925".
In this listing I found an entry for Henry Finn (son of Henry Finn and Mary Lavin). The
obit listed his surviving brother Manus, and his sisters Catherine, Mrs. M. Foley, Mrs. D.
Morris and Mrs. M. Garvey all from Chicago.
A subsequent search of the on-line Chicago marriage index
(www2.sos.state.il.us/cgi-bin/marriage/) revealed the following:
Mrs. M. Foley was Margaret Finn married to Martin Foley.
Mrs. D. Morris was Winifred Finn married to Dominick Morris.
Mrs. M. Garvey was Bridget Finn married to Frank Garvey.
The above information regarding Manus Finn was later tied in to my Finn line when I
received a copy of a letter that was written by Edward Finn in Chicago to his Aunt Jane
Finn in Ireland. In this letter Edward made reference to Manus as well has other aunts and
uncles in the Chicago area. The copy of the letter was sent to me by my cousin Kris Stone
from New York
